Manchester United Legends Game — Best, Charlton, Cantona, CR7
Manchester United have produced eras of legends. The Busby Babes. The Best-Law-Charlton holy trinity of 1968. Ferguson’s revolution. The 1999 treble. The Class of ‘92. Cristiano Ronaldo’s first-spell brilliance. On Vikto, you draft them — George Best, Bobby Charlton, Eric Cantona, Roy Keane, Paul Scholes, Ryan Giggs, Cristiano Ronaldo — and find out whose United squad really wins.
Pick your team. Bid blind. Build the Old Trafford XI worth singing about.
The Manchester United icons
Vikto’s Icon designation honors United legends who transcended the club itself — players who shaped not just the Red Devils but the wider game. Icons receive the bigger ×1.15 era and venue multipliers instead of ×1.10, plus gold visual treatment in every match.
Manchester United’s defining Icons:
- George Best — 95 — 179 goals in 470 games. Two League titles. The 1968 European Cup. Ballon d’Or 1968 at age 22. The first global footballing icon — and arguably the most naturally gifted British player ever. Best’s brilliance and tragedy are inseparable from United’s identity.
- Bobby Charlton — 92 — 249 goals in 758 games — both club records that stood for decades. Munich survivor. World Cup 1966. European Cup 1968. Ballon d’Or 1966. Sir Bobby is the moral spine of Manchester United.

Vote for next Icon
Vikto’s Icon designation belongs to the community. Anyone can vote, anonymously, on which Manchester United legend deserves Icon promotion. The legends pulling the most votes are surfaced as Icon candidates for the game.
Should David Beckham’s bend-it free kicks finally earn Icon status? Should Van Nistelrooy’s 150 goals in 219 games tip him over the line? Should Denis Irwin — Mr. Reliable across two decades — be elevated? The community decides.
How the game works
Pick Manchester United and a position — attackers, midfielders or defenders. Six legends are drawn at random from that one twelve-card pool, so every card in the match shares a position. You’ll see all six names up front, but their scores stay hidden until each card comes up for bid. You and your opponent each start with $250M to spend across the six.
Bids are blind. You can’t see your opponent’s offer until you’ve both locked in, and the higher bid takes the legend. The minimum is $1M and passing isn’t allowed. Spend wisely — the card you overpay for in round one is the budget you don’t have when George Best appears in round four. And the moment you own three cards, every remaining legend is handed to your opponent for nothing.
Then you each name a captain, worth +10% on that card, and three duels resolve the match: both squads ranked by score, best against best, second against second, third against third. Every match is also set in a decade and at a venue, and a legend who fits either scores 10% more — 15% if they’re an Icon. That’s how an 89-rated Bryan Robson plays as a 118 and beats a 94-rated Ryan Giggs caught out of era. Win two duels of three and the match is yours; the total across your three cards decides nothing.

Frequently asked questions
Why is Cristiano Ronaldo’s United era rated at 94, not higher?
The 94 reflects his first United spell only (2003-09). His Real Madrid years are rated separately in the Real Madrid roster. Vikto rates each spell at each club distinctly — the same player can have different ratings at different clubs.
Is the Class of ‘92 fully represented?
Yes. Beckham, Scholes, Giggs, Gary Neville, Phil Neville, Butt — all present. Drafting Scholes + Giggs + Neville in one match recreates the spine of the 1999 treble side.
Where are Marcus Rashford and Bruno Fernandes?
Vikto adds active players once their contribution to the club has formed a defining body of work. Both are on the roster shortlist for upcoming additions.
Why is Solskjær an Icon at only 84 base?
Icons aren’t always the highest-rated legends — they’re the ones whose status transcends the rating. Solskjær’s Camp Nou 1999 goal is one of the defining moments in Manchester United history, regardless of his career-rate ceiling.
Can Eric Cantona and Cristiano Ronaldo appear in the same match?
Yes. The pool is the all-time roster, not a specific era, and both are attackers — so a match played on attack draws its six cards from the twelve they share.
Can I play United vs Liverpool?
Not yet. A match is played on one club and one position, so both squads are drafted from the same United pool. Cross-club formats are on the roadmap, not in the game today.
