Football Legends Auction — Bid, Draft, and Beat Your Opponent
Vikto is a free football legends auction game where you bid blind against another player to draft a three-legend squad — then watch them duel head-to-head. $250M virtual budget, six legends per match, no second chances. The best bidder wins, not the player who pays the most.
What’s a football legends auction?
A football legends auction is a draft format where players don’t just pick legends one by one in turns — they bid on each one. The player willing to commit more of their budget wins the legend. It’s the auction format that auction fantasy leagues use, applied to a roster of all-time greats instead of current season players.
Vikto runs auctions in a unique blind format. You and your opponent submit your bids simultaneously without seeing each other’s offers. When both bids are in, they reveal. Highest wins the legend. This makes every bid a psychological gamble — you’re not just bidding against the legend’s value, you’re bidding against what you think your opponent is willing to pay.

How does the auction work step by step?
Step one: pick a club. Real Madrid, Arsenal, PSG, Olympique Marseille, France, or Germany. Each club has 36 legends in its roster.
Step two: six legends from that roster are drawn for the match. You and your opponent see all six up front, along with their base scores and positions.
Step three: the first legend is up for bid. You see your $250M budget. You type your bid. Your opponent does the same. Both bids reveal simultaneously. Highest wins the legend.
Step four: repeat for each card. The remaining budget after winning a legend is yours to spend on the next ones.
Step five: once each player has drafted three legends (one attacker, one midfielder, one defender), the match moves to the duel phase.
Which legends can you actually bid on?
Real Madrid’s roster includes Zinedine Zidane (95), Ronaldo R9 (97), Alfredo Di Stéfano (95), Raúl (92), Sergio Ramos (93), Roberto Carlos (92), Hugo Sánchez (89), Fernando Hierro (89). The scores reflect the legend’s prime — not their final season form.
Arsenal features Thierry Henry (96), Dennis Bergkamp (91), Patrick Vieira (91), Robert Pirès (90), Ashley Cole (92), Tony Adams (89), Ian Wright (88).
PSG includes Kylian Mbappé (96), Zlatan Ibrahimović (94), Raí (93), Marquinhos (91), Thiago Silva (93), Marco Verratti (90), Edinson Cavani (91).
Olympique Marseille has Jean-Pierre Papin (94), Basile Boli (90), Didier Deschamps (91), Abedi Pelé (90), Chris Waddle (87), Josip Skoblar (91).

How do you win a legends auction?
The best bidders don’t just throw money at the biggest names. They read the situation.
A common observation across draft strategy discussions is that the player who wins the first card almost always overpays. The same applies in Vikto. Drop $80M on Zidane in round one and you might find yourself with $170M to cover five remaining legends — including potentially better-rated ones. Meanwhile your opponent paid $0 because they were happy to let you have him, and now they have $250M to dominate the next five cards.
Smart bidders think about the full match, not just the legend in front of them. They calculate which cards are worth committing budget to and which they can let go.
Why bid blind instead of open?
Open auctions favor whoever has the most patience. You keep raising until everyone else drops out. The deepest pocket wins. That’s not a game of skill, it’s a game of resources.
Blind auctions force commitment. You can’t react to your opponent’s bid in real time. You have to predict what they’ll do and bid accordingly. Bid too high — you overspend. Bid too low — you lose the legend. That’s the tension that makes Vikto compelling.
What about the duel phase?
Once both squads are drafted, three duels resolve the match. Your attacker faces theirs. Midfielder against midfielder. Defender against defender. Each duel uses the legend’s base score modified by a hidden Era Boost coefficient that only reveals at duel time.
This is the twist that stops Vikto from being purely a budget allocation puzzle. A 95-rated Zidane might play as a 95×0.85 = 80 if his Era Boost is weak that match. Meanwhile your opponent’s 88-rated Pirès might play as 88×1.15 = 101 if his boost is strong. Smart bidders pick up undervalued legends and hope the boost pays off.
Best of three duels wins.
Frequently asked questions
What’s the maximum bid I can make?
You can bid your full remaining budget on any single card. There’s no per-card maximum — only what you have left to spend.
Can I bid zero?
Yes. If you don’t want a legend, bid 0 or 1. Worst case you win them for almost free.
What if both players bid the same amount?
The player with the lower remaining budget wins the tie. This rewards aggressive early-round spending.
Do legends always have the same scores?
Base scores are fixed and based on the legend’s career. The Era Boost varies match-to-match and reveals only at duel time.
Is there a captain mechanic?
Yes. You can designate one of your three legends as captain post-draft to boost their performance in the duel.
