France Football Legends Game — Zidane, Platini, Henry
France’s national team history reads like a roll call of football’s all-time greats. Three Ballons d’Or for Platini. Three more for Zidane. The greatest French striker ever in Thierry Henry. The 1998 World Cup winners. The 2018 World Cup winners. Mbappé already rewriting records before the next era begins. On Vikto, you draft them — across decades — against another player and find out whose all-time France XI actually wins.
Pick France. Bid blind. Build the Bleus squad you’ve been arguing about with your friends for years.
The France icons
Vikto’s Icon designation is reserved for the players who define French football across generations. Icons receive a +5 base score boost and gold visual treatment in every match.
France’s Icons:
- Zinedine Zidane — 97 — 3x Ballon d’Or. World Cup 1998, Euro 2000. The 1998 final header (twice). The 2006 final headbutt that still defines a generation’s image of him. Quite simply the greatest French footballer of all time.
- Thierry Henry — 96 — 51 goals in 123 caps. All-time France top scorer until recently. World Cup 1998, Euro 2000. The most clinical French striker who ever lived.

Vote for next Icon
The Icon designation evolves with the community. Anyone can vote, anonymously, on which French legend should be promoted next.
Should Platini’s three consecutive Ballons d’Or finally earn him Icon status? Should Vieira’s role as the engine of 1998 and 2000 be recognized? Should Mbappé, despite still playing, already be promoted to Icon? The community decides.
How the game works
Pick France in your match. Six legends from the 36 above are drawn at random and visible up front. You and your opponent each have $250M to spread across the six cards.
Bids are blind. You commit, your opponent commits, both reveal simultaneously. Highest wins the legend.
The fun with France is the era spread. You might draw Kopa from the 1950s alongside Mbappé from the 2020s. The Era Boost coefficient — hidden until duel time — means even a 86-rated Giresse can outscore a 97-rated Zidane on a good day. Best of three duels wins.
France vs club rosters
France’s all-time pool benefits from drawing players from every era and every club. You get Henry’s prime, Platini’s prime, Zidane’s prime — all at full strength, all available in the same match. Club rosters are limited to the players who actually played for that specific club. National teams aggregate the full national history.
A common discussion in French football circles is whether the 1984 Euro-winning side, the 1998 World Cup winners, or the 2018 winners had the strongest XI. Vikto lets you actually settle that — by drafting from across them.
For individual player guides, see Zidane’s card and bidding strategy or Thierry Henry’s complete profile.
Frequently asked questions
Is the World Cup 2026 squad in Vikto?
Vikto focuses on completed eras. Current players like Mbappé, Griezmann and Théo Hernandez who have established themselves in France’s history are in. Others will be added as their international careers develop.
Why is Mbappé in France legends already?
Mbappé already has a World Cup, a final, and is France’s all-time top scorer in the making. His international legacy is established enough to merit Legend status now.
Where’s Hugo Lloris?
Vikto doesn’t have a goalkeeper position. The DEF category covers outfield defenders only.
Can I face Germany legends in a match?
Cross-team tournaments — including France vs Germany format — are rolling out progressively. Sign up to be notified when they launch.
Is the 1984 Euro squad represented?
Yes. Platini, Tigana, Giresse, Fernández (the Carré Magique), Bossis, Amoros, Trésor — all in the roster. You can build a 1984 starting XI across enough matches.
