The Germany roster is unique because Beckenbauer appears in both midfield and defense — reflecting his actual career as the player who invented the role between the two. Picking Beckenbauer as a midfielder gives you elite passing range. Picking him as a defender gives you the league’s most influential libero. Different game.

Beckenbauer literally invented the attacking sweeper role — playing as both a midfielder and a defender across his career. He gets two cards in the Germany roster reflecting his versatility, but you can only have one in your squad per match.

Why are some German legends rated lower than I’d expect?

Vikto’s scoring weighs international achievements at the national team level. Some German club legends (like Müller’s Bayern years) aren’t fully counted because his Bayern record is even more impressive than his German national team scoring rate.

Is Manuel Neuer in the game?

Vikto doesn’t have a goalkeeper position. The DEF category covers outfield defenders only.
