How does the game work?

Pick a club and a position. Arsenal, Barcelona, Real Madrid, Manchester United, PSG, Marseille and Western Sydney Wanderers, plus Brazil, England, France and Germany — then attackers, midfielders or defenders. Six legend cards appear, drawn from the twelve in that club’s pool for the position you chose. You and your opponent bid on each one — but here’s the twist: bids are blind. You lock in your offer without seeing what your opponent is bidding. When both bids are in, they reveal simultaneously. Highest wins the legend.

Spend too much on Zidane in round one and you’ll have nothing left when Di Stéfano shows up. Bid too cautiously and your opponent walks away with the best legends for cheap. Every million matters — and the moment one player has three cards, every remaining legend goes to the opponent for free.

Once both squads are drafted, you name a captain and the duels begin. Both squads are ranked by score and paired off: best card against best, second against second, third against third. Best of three duels wins the match — the total across your three cards decides nothing.

What is the Era Boost?

Every legend has a base score, revealed the moment their card comes up for bid. Every match is also set in a decade, and a legend whose era matches it scores 10% more — 15% if they’re an Icon. A venue boost works the same way, and your captain adds another 10%.

None of it is random. The boosts are fixed multipliers, which is what stops the game from being purely about who has the highest-rated cards — a clever bidder reads the match conditions and outplays an opponent who just throws money at the biggest names. Zidane at 97 is great. Vieira at 91, in the match era and at the right venue, plays as 110 and beats him comfortably.

Which legends can you play?

Every club in Vikto has 36 legends — 12 attackers, 12 midfielders, 12 defenders — and you choose which of the three positions a match is played on. Each pool covers different eras, so a Real Madrid attacking match might put Di Stéfano from the 1950s in the same six-card draw as Ronaldo R9 from the 2000s.

A recurring observation in football game communities is that most titles overemphasize current players and ignore the icons that built the sport. Vikto goes the other way. The whole game is about legends, ranked and rated based on what they actually did on the pitch.

What about bonuses?

Beyond the core bidding loop, Vikto has a few layers that reveal themselves the more you play. Bonuses can give you an edge at the start of a match. Rumours give hints about the upcoming cards — but they might be true or false. Scouts let you pay to confirm intel. None of this is needed to enjoy your first game, but once you’ve played a few matches you start spotting opportunities other players miss.
