How does the football legends card game work?
Pick a club. Real Madrid, Arsenal, PSG, Olympique Marseille, or jump into a national team like France or Germany. Six legend cards appear, drawn from the 36 legends in that club’s history. You and your opponent take turns bidding on each one — but here’s the twist: bids are blind. You lock in your offer without seeing what your opponent is bidding. When both bids are in, they reveal simultaneously. Highest wins the legend.
Spend too much on Zidane in round one and you’ll have nothing left when Hierro shows up. Bid too cautiously and your opponent walks away with the best legends for cheap. Every coin matters.
Once each player has drafted three legends — one attacker, one midfielder, one defender — the duels begin. Your attacker faces theirs. Your midfielder faces theirs. Your defender faces theirs. Best of three duels wins the match.
What is the Era Boost and why does it matter?
Every legend has a base score you can see during bidding. But there’s also a hidden coefficient — the Era Boost — that only reveals at duel time. A legend rated 88 might end up performing as a 95 because their era boost was strong that match. Or they might drop to 80.
This is what stops the game from being purely about who has the highest-rated cards. A clever bidder who reads the situation can outplay an opponent who just throws money at the biggest names. Zidane at 95 is great. Zidane at 95 with a 1.15x Era Boost is unstoppable. Zidane at 95 with a 0.85x boost? Suddenly Patrick Vieira looks like the better pick.
Which football legends can you play with?
Every club in Vikto has 36 legends — 12 attackers, 12 midfielders, 12 defenders. The roster covers different eras, so you might draft Di Stéfano from the 1950s alongside Ronaldo R9 from the 2000s and Sergio Ramos from the 2010s.
A recurring observation in football game communities is that most titles overemphasize current players and ignore the icons that built the sport. Vikto goes the other way. The whole game is about legends, ranked and rated based on what they actually did on the pitch.

What about bonuses and rumours?
Beyond the core bidding loop, Vikto has a few layers that reveal themselves the more you play. Bonuses can give you an edge at the start of a match. Rumours give hints about the upcoming cards — but they might be true or false. Scouts let you pay to confirm intel. None of this is needed to enjoy your first game, but once you’ve played a few matches you start spotting opportunities other players miss.
