Greatest Footballers Game Online — Play with the Icons of Football
Vikto is the online game where you draft squads built from the greatest footballers of all time and duel them against another player’s selections. Zidane, Henry, Beckenbauer, Roberto Carlos, Ronaldo R9 — they’re all in. Pick a club, bid blind on the legends you want, and find out whose dream team really holds up.
Who counts as one of the greatest footballers?
The “greatest of all time” debate is football’s eternal pub argument. Vikto sidesteps it by going broad: every club roster includes 36 legends spanning multiple eras, with base scores that reflect their actual achievements rather than vibes.
The methodology weighs three things. First, palmarès — Ballons d’Or, World Cups, Champions League titles, league titles. Second, position-normalized impact stats — goals for forwards, assists and goals for midfielders, leadership and defensive metrics for defenders. Third, iconicity — how globally known they are, how often they appear in “greatest ever” lists.
This gives you a roster that respects history. Di Stéfano from the 1950s sits alongside Mbappé from the 2020s. Beckenbauer plays in the same matches as Marquinhos. The scoring is honest enough that fans of any era can find their icon.

Which legends can you actually play with?
Real Madrid features the holy trinity of Zidane (95), Ronaldo R9 (97), and Di Stéfano (95). Plus Raúl, Roberto Carlos, Sergio Ramos, Hugo Sánchez, Paco Gento, Fernando Hierro, Pepe, Manuel Sanchís.
Arsenal is centered on Henry (96) and Bergkamp (91), with Patrick Vieira (91), Robert Pirès (90), Ashley Cole (92), Tony Adams (89), Sol Campbell, Ian Wright, Cesc Fàbregas, Liam Brady.
PSG spans the club’s full history: Mbappé (96), Ibrahimović (94), Raí (93) — voted #1 PSG player ever by fans on the club’s 50th anniversary — plus Marquinhos, Thiago Silva, Verratti, George Weah, Ronaldinho, Cavani.
Olympique Marseille honors the Tapie era through to today: Papin (94), Boli (90), Deschamps (91), Abedi Pelé (90), Chris Waddle, Drogba (his short OM stint), Mathieu Valbuena.
France national team has Zidane (97), Platini (94), Henry (96), and the full back catalogue: Kopa, Fontaine, Tigana, Giresse, Vieira, Makélélé, Thuram, Blanc, Desailly.
Germany national team features Beckenbauer (95), Müller (95), Matthäus (94), Klose, Rummenigge, Klinsmann, Schweinsteiger, Ballack — basically every era’s icons.
A common note across football discussions is that most football games over-emphasize current players. Vikto goes the other direction. The all-time greats get equal footing with modern stars.
How does the gameplay work?
Pick a club. Six legends from that club’s roster of 36 appear in your match. You and your opponent each have $250M to bid on those six legends. Bids are blind — you can’t see your opponent’s offer until both are submitted. Highest bid wins the legend.
After the auction, each player has three legends in their squad: one attacker, one midfielder, one defender. The duel phase resolves the match. Attacker vs attacker. Midfielder vs midfielder. Defender vs defender. Best of three wins.
There’s a hidden Era Boost coefficient that reveals only at duel time. A legend rated 88 might play as a 95 with a strong boost — or as a 76 with a weak one. This means picking the highest-rated legends doesn’t automatically win the match. Reading the situation and grabbing undervalued legends with strong boosts is part of the skill.

Why play with legends instead of current players?
Current rosters change every transfer window. Today’s hot signing is tomorrow’s bench warmer. Games built around current rosters become outdated within months and require constant updates.
Legend rosters don’t have that problem. Zidane’s career is closed. His score in Vikto reflects what he actually did over 17 years of professional football. The same goes for every legend in the game.
This also avoids the licensing and image rights problems that plague football games. A common point of frustration in football game communities is that licensing issues lead to fake player names in major titles. Vikto sidesteps this because legends have well-documented careers that can be referenced directly.
How are duels actually resolved?
Each duel pits one legend against another in the same position. The legend’s score for that duel = base score × Era Boost coefficient. The Era Boost ranges from 0.85 to 1.15 (or 0.90 to 1.15 for Icon legends).
A 95-rated Zidane with a 1.10 Era Boost plays as 104.5. A 88-rated Bergkamp with a 1.15 boost plays as 101.2. The legend with the higher modified score wins the duel.
Captains add another layer — you can designate one of your three legends as captain post-draft to multiply their score in the duel.
Frequently asked questions
Can I see which legends will appear in a match?
Yes. The six legends drawn for your match are visible from the start. You decide which ones to bid for and which to let go.
How many legends does each club have?
36 — 12 attackers, 12 midfielders, 12 defenders.
Are women’s football legends included?
Not yet. Adding national team rosters with women’s football legends is on the community vote shortlist.
Do legend scores ever change?
Base scores are fixed unless community voting promotes a legend to Icon status. Icon scores get a +5 boost.
Can I play with legends from multiple clubs in one team?
Not within a single match — each match is between players drafting from the same club. But you can play matches across different clubs in your overall play history.
