Why Beckenbauer leads
Because he’s the highest-rated defender in the game already. His Germany card is a 96, Icon tier — no defender in any pool is above it, and the club version of that career would carry three European Cups and four Bundesliga titles on top of the international record.
Müller’s case is the purest striking argument in football: 365 Bundesliga goals, a rate nobody has approached, and a Germany card at 96 that puts him level with Henry and Di Stéfano among attackers.
Lahm at three is the modern equivalent of Beckenbauer’s argument — a defender rated on intelligence rather than duels, already a 92 for Germany, and the captain of a Champions League and a World Cup within two years.
Is Bayern in Vikto?
Not as a club pool, no. But Bayern is the best-represented absent club in the game, because so much of its spine is already playable through Germany: Beckenbauer at 96, Müller at 96, Matthäus at 95, Lahm at 92, plus Schweinsteiger, Breitner and Klose.

Who would be Icons?
Three, comfortably, which is more than most pools carry. Beckenbauer and Müller are already Icons on their Germany cards and would be again. Lahm is the third, on a case that has strengthened since he retired.
Lewandowski would be the interesting vote. The numbers are Icon-tier — five straight Bundesliga golden boots and a season nobody else has matched — but the community weighs the trophy that got away, and Icon status is decided by vote rather than by the rating system.
Where the pool runs deep
Everywhere, which is the problem with a Bayern pool rather than the appeal of it. Attack, midfield and defence would each field twelve cards without reaching for anyone marginal, and the top of each position sits above most club pools in the game.
That depth changes how a match plays. When the sixth-best card is an 87 rather than a 78, the cheap cards stop being traps and patience becomes the strongest strategy — you can lose the first two auctions badly and still assemble a squad that wins two duels out of three.

The names just outside
Thomas Müller has the strongest case of the players outside the ten — two decades, every trophy, and a role no rating system handles cleanly. Stefan Effenberg, Mehmet Scholl, Uli Hoeneß, Klaus Augenthaler and Giovane Élber would all make a full pool.
Bixente Lizarazu is the one already in the game, at 87 for France, from seven seasons in Munich that included the 2001 Champions League. Sepp Maier, Oliver Kahn and Manuel Neuer would be top-five candidates at any other club and don’t appear at all here, because Vikto rates outfield players only.
